Program Bio

The Maine Event Radio Show's producer and host, Dan Foley, started in broadcasting in the early 1980's. Local acts on the air? Practically unheard of! But little old WKTJ would play local music as part of the Sunday night program of Country music, 'The Country Caravan'. Impressed, curious, and persistent, by '89 Dan had begun to assemble enough locally-made recordings from throughout Maine and northern New England to launch a one-hour weekly program of homegrown entertainment called The Maine Music Hour, now known as The Maine Event Radio Show. WKTJ management generuosly allowed a time slot. Thanks to ever- better technology for recording, more bands and artists than ever are finding it affordable to produce and distribute quality recordings, which The Maine Event brings to the public ear. Dan is still at the microphone, and proud to be at the helm, as Holy Mackerel Productions brings you great entertainment of all kinds, with The Maine Event Radio Show!
